Miriam is Quarantined
On the 22nd of Sivan (acknowledged this year on June 25, 2008) Miriam was quarantined. Miriam spoke negatively about her brother Moses, and was afflicted with the skin malady, leparsy. In his great humility, Moses then prayed for Miriam to be healed. G-d instructed that she be quarantined outside the Israelite camp for seven days. In testimony to their great love for Miriam, the entire Jewish nation waited during this period before journeying onward.
