International Oud Festival in Jerusalem
This year, the festival will take place from November 8-24, 2008.
For centuries, the oud (a biblical instrument) has a short-necked lute vaguely resembling a guitar – has featured in the social and sacred music of Jews and Arabs throughout the Middle East. In modern times, the International Oud Festival, hosted by the Confederation House, is a celebration of the rich diversity of ethnic music, world music, literature, and poetry that is modern-day Jerusalem.
